About Me
Music has always been at the center of Rubaiya Sajjad's curiosity. Based in Montreal, she's drawn to the stories behind the artists as much as the music itself, creating conversations that feel less like interviews and more like catching up with a friend. Her goal is simple: make artists feel comfortable enough to let their guard down and share the parts of themselves audiences don't usually get to see.
As a music journalist and multimedia storyteller, Rubaiya's work has been featured in RANGE, Exclaim!, and Reverie. Beyond writing, she creates video campaigns, photographs live concerts, and produces artist-focused content that captures the energy of live music and the people behind it. Whether she's interviewing an emerging artist backstage or documenting a festival from the photo pit, she's interested in telling stories that feel authentic, human, and lasting.
Community is at the heart of everything she does. Rubaiya believes every artist has a story worth telling, regardless of where they are in their career. She loves discovering new talent, attending festivals and live shows, and saying yes to the unexpected side quests that often lead to the best stories.
When she's not writing or filming, you'll probably find her at a concert, exploring Montreal's creative scene, or planning her next interview. She's always looking for meaningful collaborations through journalism, video production, photography, and artist storytelling.
